GREG CAHILL CLASSIC
Chicago-based bluegrass band
SPECIAL CONSENSUS has covered a lot of musical territory in
the nearly half a century since banjoist GREG CAHILL
founded the band in 1975. Two-time GRAMMY nominees and six-time IBMA
winners, the group has amassed an expansive discography of over 20
releases.
Greg, himself, is a recipient of the prestigious Distinguished
Achievement Award from IBMA and is a SPBGMA America Hall of
Greats inductee. The band currently includes Dan Eubanks(bass), Greg
Blake(guitar) and Michael Prewitt(mandolin).
With their latest
release 'great blue north', Special Consensus turned
their gaze northward across the Great Lakes to Canada. The album
offers a collection of songs from Canadian writers and features
collaborations with some of Canada's most notable bluegrass and folk
musicians. Having toured regularly in Canada, they have a number of
Canadian bluegrass musicians among their friends. This latest album is
a tip of the hats to that immense talent in the Canadian bluegrass
community.
