BELA FLECK CLASSIC
Legendary banjo player BELA FLECK
returns to Unreal Bluegrass. An acclaimed virtuoso, he is an
innovative and technically proficient pioneer and ambassador of the
banjo playing music from bluegrass, jazz, classical, rock and various
other genres. He has been nominated for 39 Grammys in more
categories than any other musician including country, pop, jazz,
bluegrass, classical, folk, spoken word composition and arranging
winning 17 times.
A young Bela Fleck first studied the book Bluegrass Banjo by Pete
Wernick and took lessons from Erik Darling, Mark Horowitz and Tony
Trischka. The list of artists that Bela has performed with are too
many to list but include Sam Bush and New Grass Revival; Doc and Merle
Watson; Jerry Garcia; Mark Schatz and Jimmy Gaudreau(Spectrum0); Jerry
Douglas, Roland White and Blaine Sprouse(The Dreadful Snakes); Victor
and Roy Wooten, Howard Levy(The Flecktones); his wife, Abigail
Washburn; and Michael Cleveland, Stuart Duncan, Sierra Hull, Justin
Moses, Jerry Douglas(My Bluegrass Heart Band).
