Celebrating 11 plus years of Music and Interviews with the Legends and
those becoming.......
Shows Beginning May 18th
ERIC GIBSON CLASSIC

Welcome Eric Gibson back
to the show. He, along with brother Leigh are known as The
Gibson Brothers. They are the real deal. They can pick, they
can sing, and they write good country and bluegrass songs. It's the
reason Ricky Skaggs pulled them off the stage at the Ryman twenty
years ago and produced their debut album. They have won about every
bluegrass award you can name and released albums on almost every
American label including Sugar Hill and Rounder and their songs have
been recorded by many legendary artists including Del McCoury.
Their album, The Darkest Hour, pictured above, was
produced by 14 time Grammy Award winner, dobro master Jerry Douglas.
Jerry wanted to produce an album with some of the Gibson Brothers best
songs and wanted to hear everything they'd ever written. Some songs
were brand new, some old, some more than 20 years old and never before
recorded.
So, The Brothers joined Jerry at Sound Emporium's Studio B and started
recording his selection of their 'best songs'. Then the pandemic
hit......they recorded all the aoustic stuff and suspended the project
until February 2021. Back in the studio after Covid, Jerry and the
Gibson Brothers along with additional guest artists, completed the
album.
Join Steve during one of the shows on the days and
times listed above week of May 18th
by clicking on the station links AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME as he
features music from 'Darkest Hour' and chats with Eric about some of
the tracks and some of the legendary artists that joined them. Among
the tracks is a duet featuring Leigh, whose voice is as good as anyone
in the business today, with Alison Krauss on harmony. And of course,
the special harmonies that siblings bring to music are prominent. As
always, Eric provides insight into the album, working with Jerry
Douglas, Alison and others in a very entertaining interview.
